Here we are.
I really wanted to be able to push out another Lantern Year for Azure Pond last week before the update hit, but it just wasn’t meant to be.
I also had a Call of Cthulhu session I needed to prepare for which didn’t help on the spare time part – luckily that was mostly a success though.
I will say, the settlement is progressing behind the scenes and I will make an effort to push out a few more lantern years as actual summer progresses, as I do want to use Pariah and Red Witches (and a random wanderer) for a dedicated Season 3 – “Halfway up the Mountain”. And, of course, now that I have made that clear, nothing possibly could go wrong on that front, right?
But lets focus on the important things for a bit: this month’s update and sale!
The centerpiece of this month’s KS update were a bunch of armor set preview images for quite a few of the upcoming larger projects, including Inverted Mountain armors like Gryphon or Pondscum, the Death Armor (Dead Armor? the bone one said to be on par with the Green Knight stuff), Silver Relic armor from the Silver City expansion and the Dark Flower armor – some of the CoD-bound black gooey Flower Knight + Slenderman hybrid-goodness.
Giant sword-scissors?!
Brings a tear to my eye.
There is also a look at the Ivory Dragon and… uhm, its growing pains? Production pains would be more apt a description, but yeah, apparently it wasn’t easy to scan it due to the size and scope of the item.
But whilst these previews were the bulk of the update, the thing people were looking forward to the most, without a doubt, was any info on the Witches and Wanderers. And so far, its looking good for end of July to early August fulfillment for those of you out there who got any of these expansions through the KS or backerkit pre-orders.
And speaking of pre-orders – I was right! If only partially. We are getting pre-orders via the Dark Treasury for the Witches and Wanderers aka. the Revamped Wave 1 by mid of this month!
Backers will take priority in fulfillment, but should you still need to secure your own personal copy – I know I need to – these pre-orders will be a prime opportunity.
Before I get to this month’s new (and old) releases – there was also the talk about a KD:Sim kickstarter campaign. This has been a topic for a while now and I’m just going to say it, how I feel about it:
I don’t really care.
Either approach is fine with me, personally. There are a lot of people out there who have strong opinions on the matter, and I am not one of them. I don’t think this game is a scam – I love the product they put out and have put out so far – so I guess I’m biased – and I don’t think this would be a scam either if Team Death were to launch a kickstarter for the sim. Whilst it is generally frowned upon, there are other companies who routinely created new crowd funding campaigns whilst older ones were not yet fulfilled.
Granted, the main caveat in my point of view: I am not a backer of this campaign. And after close to 9 years your mileage may vary on this opinion of mine.
Generally speaking, I view the sim as an interesting product, not made for market appeal, strangely enough. It is unwieldy at times, clunky at best and non-functional at worst. And that is fine.
It is just one more weird aspect of KD:M to love and hate a little.
Also GenCon is at the end of the month. I’m not going – I would like to, but from Europe its not that easy, far too expensive and right now? Well, lets just say I’m not the biggest fan of US customs at this time.
As for releases we got a big ol’ Orc for this month’s Bloodbank fuel, in addition to the summer stuff.
T’is the time for Summer Goth, Summer Death Dice and the new Aquanaut Erza. Together with a Painter’s Scale Summer Aya – which vanished like drops of water on a hot sunny afternoon – we also got a few Vault Items on the downlow: Foltron (sold out), Sun-Claw Esther (sold out) the Energy Potion Maker, Caster Hunter (sold out) and even a few of the older photo-resins of the White Sunlion Armor.
To round out the summer theme we also saw the release of Summer Grimmory – who comes with a beta pillar card turning on the heat! He is, indeed, a vibe.
We also get EoD3 and Indomitable Survivor Rubi for the Sim.
The release I’m interested the most has to be Indomitable Survivor Tyrant Slayer Scarlet though. A Dragon King IR!? Hell yeah!
We don’t know for sure what the bow does just yet, besides being 2/6+/6 – but it is nuclear and it looks like it has Range 4 and the effect – for 1 red and 3 blue puzzle pieces – +2 extra range for each Core affecting the weapon including Devastating 1 if its total range is 8+. I think just the fact alone that it is a nuclear weapon and thus buffable by the cores will make this bow usable but this definitely makes me want to try it even more.
I will also add that it makes me happy that we are getting IR’s for more of the non-core monsters.
I’d love one for the Flower Knight next.
For now I think I will be holding off from buying anything (Scarlet though..) and keep my money ready for when the Pre-order goes up in 2ish weeks or so.
(Edit: It took me 6 hours to give in and get Scarlet.)
I don’t have much in the way of dedicated pictures for you today, so have an assortment of Feline Entity snapshots taken over the last week.

She has been a steady and reliable presence in Azure Pond so far.
I will be returning to the Settlement with another White Lion Lvl2 hunt and my thoughts on the Catarium over the course of the upcoming week. Until then, happy hunting!
As always, thank you very much for your time, the best rainbows have blue in them.
