I got a big surprise yesterday – my Remastered Wave 1 shoved up, more or less out of the blue!
So, this is going to be a quick comment on my part about my VERY first impressions as I really need to get the models built before I do anything else. I just wanted to put this out there as I’ve been talking about waiting for them a lot.

Needless to say, after I had opened the big box I spent the next 2 hours checking if everything was complete and had a quick skim of the rules that came with the 2 nemesis expansions.
The Pariah has over 40 AI cards! That is going to be some nice variance for the AI-reveal-mechanic the monster has been built around! It’ll also be interesting to see for myself if the scab weapons can be used to actual effect or if they are mostly bait.
On the other hand I am also really curious about the Red Witches fights, and just how they will play out – especially the first encounter against Braal – that will be difficult to “record” – or the final fight including Seer. She is a force of nature! Or at the very least, she can be.
Their rulebook is also thick enough to be bound differently.
Speaking of which, I also had a look through the books – and whilst I do not typically read everything, I do not care too much about spoilers. More often then not my curiosity gets the better of me anyway and its not like I didn’t watch 2 full campaigns played by Deno already either.
Also – artwork!
Anyways, more importantly, I wasn’t missing anything and could move on to the Wanderers.

For the time being I will be limited to using either Goth or Candy & Cola for my campaigns.
Unfortunately Candy’s box took a hit during transport and had a tear on the front, but the contents inside were undamaged thankfully.
Either of these 2 comes in quite early during any given campaign: LY2 for Candy and LY4 for Goth and they will likely make the early game fights a little easier as they can be pretty significant power houses.
Goth might burn herself out, but she especially has great damage potential to tap into, zooming across the battle field with her knowledge, taking several extra actions per fight as it gets leveled up. Not to mention that she can’t .. well, die at all. Of course, power like this comes at a price. Whilst Aeneas will be taxing your settlement’s resources, Goth requires a pound of flesh of a different variety.
Candy and Cola on the other hand offer refreshments! Adding Trinkets to the game (items that do not require a spot on the gear grid!), her story will revolve around finding a new forever-home and how well the settlement accommodates and integrates her.

One more thing about the included character sheets:
Whilst it is neat that they come with their own arc survivor sheets, that do have things pre-printed for them – like Phantom Friend (FA) for Candy – especially as Goth has very different courage and understanding milestones .. I found it odd that their abilities and impairments aren’t just on the sheets as well.
They both have Veteran (+1 hunt xp during the aftermath) and I can’t seem to find a reason why its not pre-printed onto the sheets.
There is also no spot to put their disposition. Which has to be an oversight.

I also discovered my ordered Domino in the box as well!
Much like with all indomitable survivors, I am looking forward to trying this new item. I think the weapon has an interesting and creative effect, and should all else fail it is still a 9STR-dagger with Deadly 2.
I won’t be using Phoenix for Season 3 however, so it will be a bit before I actively use it on the site. But I will get back to you on it once I’ve had a chance to try it out in a different setting.

With all things checked on and stored away neatly in my game box, I moved on to building a first few of the minis.
Of course, I had to start with the best of the Red Witches – Seer.

These are just a quick few late-night pics I took as I came down from the glue fumes after the building session. Hobby responsibly .. kids(?)!

And that is about it. I do need to get the models built before I do anything else, but once that is done, I’ll be able to start Season 3 reasonably soon. The one thing I am still a bit uncertain on is my Node 3 though: Dragon King or Sunstalker? Initially I wanted to go for the dragon, but right now I’m considering the shark.

Edit: I have, at this stage build all of my new plastic and they are looking great.

As always, thank you very much for your time, I can’t wait to find out how hard I bounce off Pariah.
