Deathmas is here and it brings with it gifts of joy – like the Heart of the Sword Saint or Kale fighting ducks.

As far as sales go, this was a particularly small one, mostly focused on collectible/decorative minis. Whilst Kale does his best to bring order to his waterfowl – which is called out to be an especially demanding hobbying-task – we got a lot of Gunborg with both a Deathmas version and a Painter’s Scale, both of which I expect to sell out quickly.

Aside to these 3 we got our 2nd Deathmas Gift – the Heart of the Sword Saint, featuring another set of 2 Swordcraft cards, some rare gear to gamble for and a festive Percival mini holding the Black Knight pup.
These “gifts” are a product line started last year and are to be a push-your-luck mechanic to spice up the Atnas fight by giving you the option to flip any number of these Gift cards to add to the fight for both a higher difficulty encounter and increased rewards.
As per a team member’s insight, all of these abilities are some variation of cut-content from Atnas which would have made the fight either too complex, difficult or punishing.
Currently though, with only 2 of these products released so far, the options are still a bit limited and somewhat of a let-down for this type of a mechanic. Which is also why a lot of folks were initially thinking we might be getting 2 of these boxes this year and sadly, this was not the case.
In that sense I do hope we either see another box that includes a gift maybe by January or we get a “gift box” at some point. They could just go all out EoD or SoD style with this one and offer 3 to 4 minis together with the same amount of evil traits if they ever wanted to.
As an added “bonus” to years box: Percival looks like herself again in this release. I have seen a bunch of discussions on whether or not Sun Percival even is the Percival we have come to know from the game and I do agree, last month’s Sun box could just be someone else entirely.

If you want to look at it from an overly positive angle though: it guarantees support for the next 10 years to come minimum if they really release only 1 box a year.

Finally, Glow has been added to the Sim.
Whilst this particular box garnered some initial criticism, I, personally, have always really enjoyed the content featured with this Legendary Character.
She does offer a “Wanderers at home”-type of experience, and whilst I just typed out that joke myself, I think there is some value to having a somewhat similar system exist in a different design space like this as well; opposed to just having the Wanderer experience be its own thing.

As of writing this, no other holiday/Christmas/Deathmas themed items have been made available (like the dice or the first Gift of Deathmas – the Cockroach Queen) and this feels like a bit of an oversight.
Maybe they are yet to come. Last year we got an update post full of “insert image here”, so stranger things have happened before.

Just as I was getting ready to publish this the other Deathmas items were made available, alongside 3 new art prints.

Speaking of the update, besides a link to YT and an animation of Allison painting an Erza mini – which is lovely – we got a single picture of the Screaming God/Parasite Queen rulebook (which seems thick – as it is bound like the Red Witches rule book is, as opposed to being stapled) and the Community Garden.
Heliocentrism and Starbound both appear to be done, but are still set to be released alongside CoD.

I will say, a Penitent One Wanderer would be interesting, for sure. Also another +1 from my side to the triplets/twins minis. Those could present fun options, even if they are mainly cosmetic.

And with that the year is almost over.

With the Witches and Wanderers releasing this year, Kingdom Death saw a juicy injection of new content and we are slowly, oh-so-very-slowly, but surely moving up the side of the Inverted Mountain.
And whilst I don’t believe we will be getting CoD in 2026, the Screaming God and the Bee Monsters will surely provide enough new content for the average KD:M enjoyer to hold over another year. Both the Preacher and the bone armor might also merit their own campaign playthroughs once they are added to the mix as well.
Overall the game seemed to garner quite the amount of attention from new players and veterans alike this year, and I am glad it does continue to do well.

As I continue to look forward to next year, I will be returning (at least) once more next week having a look at all the settlements I played throughout 2025.
I liked doing the recap for 2024, so Imma do it again!

I have recently added a couple of monsters to my Sim account and I have been blasting a Frogdog/Slenderman/DBK campaign during a couple of sleepless nights, recently.
And I will likely get Glow as well once I am done writing this.

Also, I have also gotten the first of my Black Friday orders the day before Christmas as well as both Aeneas and the Death Drifter.
The latter I am currently simulating in the Sim, which is a bit of a hassle keeping the cards at the PC but it works well enough. He is a beast once he gets going!
Once you are able to combine several of his knowledges he just goes off on any monster he comes across. The drifter basically solo’d a DBK (Lvl1) in LY10 for me.
I did roll really well on his story events, I do have to admit though.

I hope you have had a great couple of days and maybe even found something to play/hobby/be glad about under your Deathmas tree. I know, I sure did!
Enjoy your time with friends and family, both in your settlement and outside of it!

As always, thank you very much for your time – this year the Feline Entity will bless all your Frogdogs and White Lions – get ready to get got!
