Yeah.., I know.., I’m late this time, but there was a lot going on last week on my end. So, you will likely have checked your e-mail by now and thus will have seen that:
Dark Treasury pre-orders of the Screaming God can be shipped!
And if not .. what are you still doing here? Get that loud-mouthed deity!
..
Unless you are waiting for the end of month sale, of course. Thinking about it, that might be a more sensible way to go about it actually. But, either way, no matter if you still have some patience left in you to wait 1 or maybe 2 more weeks longer – I sure didn’t – know that it has been made available at this point.
Pre-oders getting sent out this week does also bode well for the retail release of the Screaming God and Parasite Queen to happen soon-ish – probably at the end of June would be my guess.
I wouldn’t necessarily hold my breath for it to happen earlier, i.e. this month, but, to be fair, there still remains a small chance.
As for pricing, whilst we do not know anything official, during the check-out process for shipping the pre-order, the Screaming God expansion was marked as $175.
This would mean it is a little cheaper than Dragon King ($185).
Unfortunately, I also have to include a little PSA.
This initial release on the Dark Treasury was sadly plagued with errors: all the way from Wednesday evening when I first discovered that I had warehouse options for my pre-order, to when I finally managed to add it to my cart and pay shipping a little over a full day later (it took me several attempts to say the least). A little research also showed that a lot of people were having the exact same issues.
Whilst reports of said error persisting have mostly stopped by now, should you be unlucky enough to still encounter trouble when you are trying to add your pre-order to your shopping cart, don’t hesitate to message support as it was quite the nasty little hiccup that did not care for the user switching devices, browsers or deleting their cookies.., although just retrying often enough seemingly did the trick eventually for a lot of people.
And now the wait continues for a little longer – but an end is in sight! (Edit: And then the universe did it’s thing again, I just found out that I have an estimated delivery date for Wednesday!)

In other news, I got to pick up my Seed Pattern Survivor – Zaniyah today.

The Stone Macuahuitl featured as this box’s pattern, is a surprisingly beefy weapon for both how early it can be built (Era 1!) and for how little requirements it actually has.
Whilst it does cost you a Founding Stone, which should probably not be ignored entirely, the pattern only requires Node 1 parts and Heat available to the settlement.
The toughest part about building this weapon will be drawing the Pattern from the deck by the looks of it!
At 3/7+/4 you will be able to use this sword-club hybrid to put a decent dent into the early game, with the potential for some mid- to late-game shenanigans due to the dual-weapon type.
Put on Lantern Armor? This gets sharp.
Roll a perfect hit with club spec? Double your wound-roll result.
Be a sword master? 4/6+/5 sounds like a (slightly mid) Node 3 weapon.
And whilst its keywords and ability really want you to use this clord (swub?) in a crit build, the generous affinity spread will likely turn this into a support/off-hand weapon for quite a few grids.
..
I just had a flashback to my last campaign where I had a gear grid with 3 blue-up affinities that connected to nothing. This could have been a decent 4th!
And who knows, you might just get enough Founding Stones from hunt events to be able to feed them into the weapon for Deadly 3 several times – I’ve had a campaign with 16 Founding Stones left in storage before.

And that is all for today. Hopefully, next time I will have my Screaming God for the Vignette finally. There has also (already!) been talk about a Parasite Queen challenge mode on the Lantern’s Reign discord, thanks to a Team Death member, offering up 3 levels of greater difficulty for the finale encounter. And if I read it correctly this did net one member of the community a King’s Coin for beating level 1! Apparently this might be opened up as community challenge with actual rewards at some point as well. I was thinking about taking the four survivors that took down the Gold Smoke Knight into this once I got my box. I’m pretty sure they’ll get demolished, but I might as well try! Once I do, I will be sure to post the results!
But I’ll need my Screaming God to get here for that first.
As always, thank you very much for your time, the wait continues.
