Behold .. the Dermacentaur!

I don’t often feel tempted by the gameplay-less resin monsters, but somehow this mechanical seeming crab-tick-hybrid-creature turned out a little tougher than usual. But maybe that is the heat still lingering here in Germany.
Speaking of which, it is time for this year’s Summer sale! And whilst we did not get a Kingdom Death Bikini we got a couple of old and new faces as this month’s offerings.

Whilst the crab a.k.a. the Dermacentaur is without a doubt the center piece for this month the Woe White Speaker gives us an omen (take a token) of the Woe Phoenix and its twisted life story.
But she isn’t the only Painter’s Scale, as we also get a chance to pick up the Summer Archivist.

For new smaller scale releases we got 1 beta gear and one plastic release. Starting Survivor – Allison offers the chance to get your hands on a beta Pillar card – which does appear to be our 2nd Apostil – whilst Pulverizing Star Venus is the first new Indomitable Survivor in a while.
I was hoping for a new Indom in my heart of hearts for a bit now and whilst I don’t mind another reason to go hunting Dragon Kings, I would have preferred Sunstalker. Besides an impressive looking sculpt, we will have to wait and see what the weapon does sadly. However, we do get to see that the resource is a perfect iron-organ, which widens the Dragon King’s uses for Taxidermy if nothing else.

As for “oldies-but-goodies” there are also the Dragon Slayer or Summer Goth Painter’s Scale to pick up. And the FOMO part of me is considering the latter for the pattern gear due to the restricted window during which they are made available (I probably should wait till Black Friday instead, though).

And if you are into KD:M-sim-gaming you will be happy to hear that the Screaming Nukealope Vignette has been added as well. Good luck hunting this radiating monster with the pants-less Ashbloom!

As for the update (#141) – its partially bee-themed! Yeah!

But the first thing I noticed about the official art was actually what Laurie was reading – its a PotSun event in a large bound book! CoD reference spotted, the optimist in me would say!

Screaming God fulfilment has reached 97% completion, and at this point I just noticed that it wasn’t actually a part of the sale. This will likely mean that Screaming God debuts for retail at the end of July – just in time for GenCon?
Maybe it’ll get released for general purchase a little earlier.

For now we did not get any clues as to what new releases could be up for grabs at GenCon, but I’m sure we’ll be able to make some educated guesses by the end of the month besides the teasered Phobia – Part 2.
Survivors of Death Vol. 3 feels like a safe bet, I would say, as much as a new Legendary Survivor is as well. We have been waiting for Hollow’s debut in a Glow-style box for while now and we do know that this is a product they have been working on. A new Pillar and/or Indom survivor (Screaming God?) would surely also fit the bill besides a couple of resin minis.
But I am getting carried away – that is next month!

The Bullfrog Mace won the poll to be the addition to the First Hero expansion – yay!
And besides the quick mention that the 3D terrain pack is close to being finished, the rest of the update is Titan Bee stuff!

From this first glimpse, the Titan Bee reads really interesting!
With a focus on Duration cards, which essentially take up monster turns for potentially doing nothing if they get wounded off successfully afterwards, to having a ramping trait which adds increasing lethality to the monster every time it gets “disrupted” in what its trying to do.
Whilst it is only a small glimpse into the whole package, it sounds really intriguing for a Node 1 monster! I can’t wait to see how it stacks up to the Frogdog!
Especially as we might get another sneak peak into settlement changes before its release – with Titan Honey and wax treated gear mentioned. About a wax rawhide set we have known for a bit – yet another thing to be curious about!
I do also wonder how easily accessible these buffs & resources will be considering how .. absent .. the Mere Navi interactions can be from a Frogdog settlement a lot of the times.

Overall, I guess I am easy to hype up for the upcoming Bee monsters as they have been fairly high up on my personal interest gauge, so I am happy with this look at how the Titan Bee functions, and I do think what we have seen fits the visual of the monster to a tee. It feels quite easy to see how the monster has its tantrums and the nightmare-baby aesthetic is presented from the cards shown.

And whilst I do have to say that I would be more interested in Honeycomb Weaver intel – if anything is a “secret” showdown at this year’s GenCon, it is very likely the yokai-bee.

Before I tap out for today, I just wanted to mention that over the last week or two several of the Expansions of Death 1 era monsters have been made re-available in the official shop.
Now these are not the reprints that have been announced and are much more likely just left-over stock that was “rediscovered” if you will. Most of these available items are located solely in the US as well, so if you are an international fan, its even harder to recommend getting any of these boxes right now.
But.., if for some reason you really wanted a Lion Knight – perhaps for the completion of your collection – know that there are 77 of them in the US warehouse (as of writing this).

After having just put in my own small order for some more dice and Indomitable Survivor Venus (I’m going to save up for the big post-GenCon order at the end of August, I figured), I am going to call it a night at this point!
Or.., maybe I’ll have another read through of the Titan Bee stuff.

I’ll be back later this week with the Lvl3 Showdown for the Black Knight fight – it’s something all right!
As always thank you very much for your time, make the best of the heat – head to the beach – but beware the robo-crab!
