Whilst the thematic focus of this month has typically rested with Death High and the overall motto of “get back to school” this year’s September brings a long a whole host of plastics as well as new storyline centered on Simon (one of the veteran survivors from the First Hero box?) and his crush on DH Allison.

Adam even visited the Lantern’s Reign discord earlier sharing what amounted to a whole comic featuring young Simon in his grand estate, talking to the family maid under the watchful gaze of his father, Simon Sr. before getting embarrassed by his mother modelling for Snow‘s painting.
Sounds a little like a fever dream, but I swear it happened!
All of these new incarnations of partially known characters can be found as resin releases for the sale!
DH Esther, Murderer and the DBK PE teacher are also available this time around!

And whilst these are cool and all (and its a little weird that the comic was posted more or less in its entirety but not made available elsewhere or for purchase? the comic can be read on the official site: right here) I would still say that the real stars of the show are the new 1.7 expansions!

Whilst not new-new as they were first premiered at GenCon 26, this month marks the release of the first 2 reworked EoD1 entries – the Slenderman and Dung Beetle Knight – for general purchase.
The pages for each of the expansions features a cursory list, all the way at the bottom, of what has changed from the previous 1.6 version, in case you are interested.
And just to be clear, should you already own the older boxes, there is no need for you to buy a whole new copy just to get these updates!
Whilst they are sadly not part of this month’s sale, there will be card packs for each of the older expansions to provide you with all necessary game play updates. Alternatively, if you are planning to get Campaigns of Death, these changes will be included with the big box as well.

And, rounding out the sale are the other GenCon boxes: Survivors of Death III, Legendary Character – Hollow and Astri the Promised.
Suffice to say, this is going to be an expensive month on my end.

Finally, both the Parasite Queen dice and the seasonal Fall Dice have returned to the shop as well.

The update then took a turn into a wholly unexpected direction: it presents us with an overview of the Wise One campaign featured at one of the event tables at GenCon this year (2026).

Whilst most of my coverage managed to get most of the new systems, one new and very interesting revelation would be that we seemingly need to hit a Game Over with the Legless Ball innovation within a settlement to unlock the campaign for play – likely via a strain.
And what a campaign it is looking to be .. get yelled at by the Wise One, cursed and misunderstood as your survivors develop all new disorders and the ability to manipulate the monster controller tile to give different effects beyond +1 insanity.
10/10 would get Traumatized (D) again without hesitation.

Considering how much I am typically annoyed by having to pull 3 Fighting Arts instead of 1 when I am playing a Romantic settlement – having to do the same with disorders sounds real .. great .. to me.

Still, my personal pet peeves aside, a campaign focused around manipulating what disorders you have, with ample opportunities in the settlement to change or remove the ones your survivors get and just a whole bunch of new ones in the mix sounds really interesting to begin with.
Add to that all new items feeding off of your increasingly unhinged survivors’ mental state as well as the disorder matching you need to do to create the new Monster Controller Tiles and it does feel like a winner already!

And with all that I haven’t even touched on the main gameplay loop of taking limiting “wishes” out onto the hunt to gain the Wise One Teachings you need to use several of the very powerful effects of the new innovations.
I can’t wait to get rid of Aichmophobia (D) from my campaign!

Yeah.. that one is personal.

Beyond this “deep dive” the Community Garden did allude to us seeing another “bigger” plastic release this year still, which the amount of smaller new (plastic) releases being kept low because of it – like Indoms or Character boxes. This was more or less confirmed on the discord afterwards as well.
Of course Team Death have remained tight lipped about what this “bigger” release could be – hopefully it’s Dead Armor though. I’d love to go bone hunting later this year.., but that is just me speculating.

And finally, we got 2 more “mystery” pictures – one showing the new model for the Gryphon whilst the other is .. uhm, disco-KDM?

And with that I am done for the day – it’s been a long one. This sale had a couple of things I didn’t expect: like the comic or the many chairs featured in those painter’s scales.
And now the wait begins anew. The wait for the next order to arrive!

To pass the time, the Gormpital will go out and hunt a Spidicules soon-ish!

As always, thank you very much for your time – go read the comic!
