First released as a part of GenCon 2026’s line up and finally available on the shop as well, Legendary Survivor – Hollow gives players the opportunity to experience the life of one of the 4 Wishseekers from the Killennium Butcher Vignette before she set out in an attempt to meet the Frozen Star and have her deepest desire be fulfilled.

Similar to other Legendary Survivor boxes this one features 4 minis depicting Hollow throughout various different stages in her life, several pieces of gear, a character card with a legendary ability and 4 art cards.
As for the minis, first we have the classic “starting survivor” set-up clad only in a Cloth. The second entry into Hollow’s story sees her wearing Dragon Vestements and brandishing the Serpent Fang dagger – a weapon reminiscent of the one she is wielding against the Killennium Butcher.
The third mini has her armored up, wearing a special cuirass and 2 daggers. And for the fourth and final miniature, Hollow is holding the Stoic Mask her character has become known for as she is dressed in ceremonial attire and marked to become the Dragon Sacrifice.

As for her gameplay content, Hollow features a gear-based progression system, which evokes the character’s journey and is not entirely dissimilar to what Legendary Survivor – Glow attempted to do as well.
In this particular regard, these two boxes do share some similarities in spirit, but not in execution. Whilst Glow relied on reaching Hunt XP/age milestones and thus quite simply surviving, Hollow will require you to have her (or rather the character “The Hollow“) deal the killing blow against an opponent whilst wearing certain gear in order to upgrade it and ultimately don the Stoic Mask upon their death.

Upon first gaining the character card “The Hollow“, the settlement will also gain the pattern for the Aspirant Headband – an irreplaceable accessory worn .. well, on the head .. which grants 1 armor and +1LCK to the wearer amongst other things.
Building this new and potentially quite powerful piece of gear requires either the Throne or Barber Surgeon settlement location, so it might take a moment to get if you are not playing a PotStars campaign, and it also costs you a Perfect Bone, 1 organ and 2 scrap as well.
In turn you not only get the item with its 2 blue affinities pointing up and left, but also a 2nd pattern for the Serpent Fang – the dagger Hollow is wielding with her 2nd mini.
If you have the Throne or a Weapon Crafter in your settlement you will be able to build this curious new dagger for 1 Perfect Organ, 2 bones and 2 scrap.
Stat-wise it is identical to the Sacrificial Fang from the Vignette (3/7+/6) but is has gained both the blindside and irreplaceable rules alongside 2 limitations on the ability to stack armor by wounding the monster. Not only do you need to wound the monster from behind to trigger the effect, you also have to activate the ability first by connecting a green puzzle-piece affinity (down) and providing a regular red affinity from somewhere.

Should you manage to deal a killing blow with Hollow, her Aspirant Headband will upgrade to the Anointed Headband, which not only gives you access to yet another pattern for the Serpent Cuirass, but also 2 head armor, +1LCK AND +1ACC.
This new version of the accessory is now also cursed. And you have probably already guessed it – if you manage to deal a killing blow whilst wearing it: it will upgrade again! This time into the Sacrificial Headband.
But before we get to that, a quick look at the Serpent Cuirass:
Building this chest armor requires either the Throne or Blacksmith settlement location and costs 1 Iron, 4 Leather, 1 Broken Lantern and 2 organs.
Besides providing 4 armor to the body hit location, this heavy, metal armor features the lantern keyword, is also irreplaceable and burdens the wearer with -2EVA!?
Of course the ability of the armor piece tries to make up for this hefty downside: as long as you have no injury boxes filled, your first hit with each attack will not draw a hit location card and just deal a wound instead! But as soon as you fill in any injury box for this survivor, this effect turns off for the rest of the Lantern Year.
Whilst this is a bit of a gamble, automatic wounds have proven time and time again to be one of the most powerful effects any survivor can have in the game and purely by that logic, this chest piece should be worth the trouble it can cause you.
Finally, the Sacrificial Headband – whilst this cursed head accessory now has 3 armor, +1ACC and +2LCK it does also mark the wearer for death!
Meaning, that if at any point the settlement suffers population loss (via a “-X population” effect specifically, as confirmed by Team Death) Hollow – or rather the wearer of this headband – has to be amongst the survivors chosen to die.
Of course, this will activate the second ability on the Character card “the Hollow” and turn Hollow .. actually hollow, just as we have seen from Hollow as she was presented in the Vignette with the status card and everything.

With the nitty-gritty out of the way, as you can see getting “the Hollow” character card online and ready to get sacrificed should be a bit easier in a Dragon King settlement amongst the People of the Stars as compared to other campaigns, the same goes for the extra pattern gear you can build as well.
And whilst you will only ever be able to get the Empty Vessel Survivor Status card on the survivor that has the “the Hollow” character card ability, it should be noted that the headband, dagger and cuirass all can be worn by each and everybody in your settlement and that you could just rebuild them over and over again should they ever get lost due to being irreplaceable.
As long as you have enough spare Perfect Bones to use up the headband offers a 2nd +1LCK for somebody if nothing else (alongside a Lucky Charm).
Do keep the crafting limits on the pattern cards in mind though. There can only ever be 1 copy of each gear at a time. And due to not being able to take the headband off if it ever levels up, the person wearing the it could also get carried away and die to being marked for sacrifice if they kill too many monsters.
Overall, much like in the Vignette, should you manage to turn Hollow hollow, she will ultimately try to play the role of an armor-tank impervious to bleed and able to replenish lost armor points, that vanishes once she has been ground to dust.
Whether or not that sounds interesting and/or like a good time to you will probably determine whether or not this whole process is worth both the effort and the opportunity cost of using the Legendary-ability-slot in your character deck.

Personally I have enjoyed my time with Glow a lot in the past and Hollow seems like a different flavor of the same dish, I would say.
To me they both feel like “home-grown” wanderers, to put it simply, and I like the angle of having a survivor growing with time along a path such as this a lot.
As with all White Boxes, I will refer to my “get what looks coolest to you” approach instead of going overboard on whether or not something is “good” or “the best”.
Something being “good” or “powerful” does not necessarily equate to having a good time in a game like KD:M.
But, to be fair, this is a fairly pricy box at $77 and furthermore, the 1 spot for a legendary ability slot in a character card deck is already quite hotly contested. So, as this does typically end up being the focus of many-a discussion anyhow..:
As far as the Legendary Survivors are concerned, Aya – a.k.a. “the Red” stands head and shoulders above the other three in regards to the power level of the boxes and that is very unlikely to change any time soon, perhaps ever.
Hollow does put in a good effort to get the rank 2 spot for the time being though, based mostly on the gear she brings along.
Glow and Snow probably lag a bit further behind still, depending on personal preferences in regards to which gameplay aspects they interact with – which neatly segues me back around to my old adage: “get what looks and sounds coolest to you!”

Once Season 4 gets to either Lantern Year 10 or after we innovate Shrine (I) in the Gormpital, whichever is earlier, I think I’ll give the next born survivor this character card, so we can see it in play, just like I did for Glow in Season 1.
If you are already a fan of the character Hollow as seen in the Killennium Butcher Vignette, (I sure am – Hollow was my favorite of the Wishseekers), I’m pretty sure you’ll enjoy this White Box as well.
As always, thank you very much for your time, who is your favorite Wishseeker? Could it be .. the Butcher?
